Creative Space

Since I recently finished the memory pouches for my kids, it was time to set my daughter to work decorating the cards that would go in her pouch. I cut some heavy watercolor paper into 3″ x 5″ pieces and set her loose with paintbrush and paints.

Aren’t little hands busy at work so sweet? Our crafty area was soon covered in her artwork.

Tip: If you save all the scrap pieces of paper that aren’t the right size, they can be decorated and given to grandparents to use as bookmarks!

On another note, look what my sister brought me from Okinawa:

Japanese Fabric (2)

Japanese Fabric (4)

The fabric is hand-woven. She said it was relatively inexpensive when bought right there on the island. I have no idea what I will use it for yet, but I know it will have to be something special, because I don’t want to use it up on any old thing.

My creative space is not very active at the moment, but it’s still awfully happy, what with all the pretty things in it! More special spaces can be found at kootoyoo.

I love the idea of a little pouch for the cards. I’ve some stock index cards in my diary to write those ‘little things’ down as they happen (because I sure know that I forget them if I don’t!) so it’ll be lovely to have somewhere nice to put them. Will come back and visit again soon. x

Hiya Gretchen, Wow congrats on your new shiny space!!
Love your watercolour fun pics. That’s just how we make greeting cards too – I get the poppets to paint away on unlined index cards (I don’t have to cut anything out then) and then all I have to do is stick them on coloured card. Kids art is always gorgeous!
