Just Jane Ann

Some time ago, my husband’s grandmother came across a doll that she had at her house, and she thought my daughter might like it. She sent it to my in-laws’ house so it could be played with there. My mother-in-law named the doll Jane Ann, and my daughter really likes her.

My sister-in-law, however, is not a fan of Jane Ann. She finds her a little creepy. And because I like to torment my sister-in-law (who is a very talented artist and a lot of fun, to boot), I started taking photos of Jane Ann to send to her. Trust me, she loves it. She may not say so, but I know she does!

Here’s Jane Ann enjoying the out-of-doors:

Because Jane Ann is such a treasure (*wink*), I thought I might start sharing her with the rest of the world by posting her here occasionally on Fridays. Perhaps you can think of it as Freaky Friday. I know Christie will.

My sister and I have a similar game with a creepy figurine…. We hide it in unexpected places and wait for the “wwwLaaaHHH!” scream of discovery. Months pass by between turns and extra kudos are given for strategy and imagination. He’s been discovered buried in the sugar canister, hiding under a teacup in the cupboard, popping out of the glovebox, and my favourite is when my BIL wired it into the pendant lamp over my bed so I discovered it looking down at me. It glows in the dark. Good luck with your own game of “creeping out your sister”. :-)

Maybe it is very sad I don’t have a sister, afterall… This wouldn’t work with a brother would it? Its actually very funny (in a spooky, sisterly way…)!!!
    Have a great day!

    Gretchen,

I’ve been meaning to get in touch with you for weeks… Thank you for your regular visits to and comments on my blog. I have been a very poor blogger lately, and my diversion with watercolor appears to be over. I’ve decided that I don’t think I have the temperament for it. Stitching is for me!

    Your new blog looks great!

    Blessings,
    Katy

bwb, yes, Jane Ann does have clothes, but she is frequently without them, as my daughter feels they are too constricting. Also, I find it creepier to photograph her without them! ;)

Katy, good to hear from you! :)
