I have a nice bag for carrying my MacBook. My mother-in-law made it for me with some great Amy Butler fabrics. But I have a tendency to stuff other things in the bag as well, and sometimes that means my computer gets a little bumped around. So when I saw the tutorial for this cozy, I thought it would be the perfect thing to protect my laptop inside the bag, as well as at other times when I want to transport it.
It’s an incredibly easy project. It’s totally no-sew and makes use of felt, hook and loop, and double-sided fusible webbing. I liked the scalloped edge on the sample cozy in the tutorial, so I used the lid of a small spice jar to trace scallops. It’s such a simple design, and it looks stylish when closed and when opened up. (Hard to tell, as the inner felt color blends right in with my carpet in the photo.)
My MacBook is now set for the approaching Autumn. I’m sure it’s thrilled.
P.S. I do try to occasionally respond directly to your comments via e-mail, but I have been having some difficulties with my comment notification as of late, so that hasn’t been working out. I’m trying, as I’m able, to respond right within the comments portion of the post, but I know not everyone checks back for responses. Know that I do continue to enjoy and appreciate each one of them, and I hope to get this issue worked out soon.

I love it! Maybe one day I will have a MacBook… Sigh…

written on August 17th, 2009, at 6:25 pmKaty, I about killed my husband when he brought it home because we so don’t have that kind of money. But it was a gift, so I couldn’t refuse it, right? ;)
written on August 17th, 2009, at 9:09 pmOoh, gorgeous! I’d make one if I had a lap top of any kind. I think a desktop cozy would take considerable effort.

LOL. A desktop cozy would be hilarious. Well worth doing, just for the fun. I bet you’d get featured on all sorts of websites for that one! ;) (Maybe I should make one for my hubby, do it sometime when he’s gone so he can come back to a surprise. He’d love it. Really.)
