This week has been full—full of trips to library story time and the lake to feed the “gooseducks,” errands, appointments, nature walks…. It has been good, but it has left little time for anything creative.
I did manage to wrap up a couple of packages, Furoshiki style.
And we did go on a leaf-collecting mission, during which I found these beauties. I love the colors, but especially the patterns created by the slow loss of color. See how the colors move from side to side across that small leaf yet creep vein-like through the larger one? Same tree, different patterns.
I’m feeling a little exhausted lately, partly from the weather changes, partly from the busyness, and no doubt partly just due to the challenges of parenting small children. My creative space is looking pretty much the same as it has all week. Some near-finished labels, near-finished Fall embroidery.
So, rather than stress about the lack of productivity creatively speaking, I’ve decided to take a little break and start fresh next week. I’m also going to take a break from blog commenting, although I doubt I’ll be able to stop myself from a little reading. See you next week, hopefully recharged and with something more creative in the works!

written on September 24th, 2009, at 1:12 amLOL, I know how you feel on the blog commenting! I have the same problem myself. I don’t have the time to really manage it but somehow I squeeze one more in here and there…
It’s nice to be in different space for a while too. You can’t be creative all the time and sometimes a break is so refreshing. Beautiful leaves btw…amazing colours

written on September 24th, 2009, at 4:03 amInspirational colours there Gretchen. Whilst we’re heading into spring here in Australia which is lovely, my favourite season of all has to be Autumn – purely for the amazing colours of nature.
written on September 24th, 2009, at 5:30 amSometimes you need a break to recharge, and find some inner peace and focus and your ‘mojo’ before you can create the stuff you love to do. It is important to make time for you. Enjoy it. Beautiful packaging – thank you for putting a link on it. Peta

Great photos. The leaves are beautiful. I’ve been picking leaves recently on my walks in the park too and using them in collage.
