Last week the need arose for a few simple but sweet gifts, so I made some more lavender sachets. The gift recipients are a loved one and a friend, both of them needing some relaxation during challenging times. I think the combination of aromatherapy and prettyness fits the bit perfectly!
There are two squares, one 4″ and the other 5″. I’m especially pleased to see my new labels sewn into them. It looks so official!
I really like the peacock fabric for some reason, and I think it will be just right for the person receiving it. I also like the vintage look of the other fabric, and I’ve been saving it for something special. These will be paired with one more sachet, a patchworked rectangle with some custom embroidery.
Then there’s a nice sized rectangular sachet, about 12″ x 4″. I used fabric scraps (the ones from my in-progress quilt) and some hand embroidery on linen to patchwork the front. It, like the others, is filled with flax seed mixed with lavender essential oil. It has a good heft to it but is nice and squishy too. I tried it draped across my forehead and decided it would feel especially soothing if it had been left in the refrigerator for a while to make it cool.
After I finish the last patchwork sachet, I’ll be back to getting shop stock put together, patterns drawn, and giveaway prizes made. I may be more the tortoise than the hare these days, but I’m still plodding along!
P.S. I recently realized, when viewing my site on a different computer monitor, that the embroidered part of my banner was reading rather dark. (It’s so much brighter on my screen!) I did some tweaking to correct that. Does it look better to you? (You might have to refresh to see it.)

Banner looks fine here.
Your labels look lovely – they definitely suit how beautiful and classic your work is.
PS. Jane Ann… never gets uncreepy. :-)
