I’m still making baby blankets. I know everyone gets lots of baby blankets, but I don’t think the store-bought ones can beat a thick, squishy, soft hand made version.
I almost don’t want to give them away. (But I do, and I will.) I’ve got one more to go, and then it’s back to some embroidery.
No shop update this week, but there are still lots of goodies waiting for new homes!

Thankyou for your kind words on my post – looks like you are busy despite sleep deprivation!

written on February 18th, 2010, at 3:53 amWe have been given and bought gazillions of baby blankets over the years, but the only ones I’ve kept are the hand made ones. You are so right, the soft, hand made ones are by far the best.
Lovely, snuggly blankets! We could do with some today – more sleety, yukky, wet snow here – eeeeugh : /

Gorgeous baby blankets. You are so right, you just can’t beat a homemade blanket. They are so much prettier, durable and original to shop bough mass produced knits! Even more importantly, you’re creating soon to be treasured heirloom pieces, magical!
written on February 18th, 2010, at 10:02 amOh I love them! So precious. Anything I got that was handmade for my first I held onto as they were few and far between. Now Bubble my 3rd has the name ‘handmade baby’ hehe…

written on February 19th, 2010, at 2:24 pmyup, handmade baby blankets are the best! I’m working on one right now but I don’t want to give it away anymore! I need an easier, quick blanket to make so I don’t have such a hard time giving them up.
written on February 19th, 2010, at 11:24 pmthose colours are just so vibrant and wonderful. I like them much better than the traditional baby colours. I’m sure these will become a treasured keepsake.
written on February 20th, 2010, at 7:24 pmI loved recieving home-made blankets but they came only from my Mum and my late Grandma. They are treasured heirlooms as well as practical as nothing beats a knitted or crocheted blanket for snuggling a baby. Lucky recipients!
