Extended Stay and a Birthday

I’d meant to be back yesterday, but I’ve decided to stretch my bloggy break just a little longer. I’ve got such good momentum going with all this finishing up that I don’t want to stop it. (And I haven’t had time to edit photos yet.) But, more importantly, we are celebrating a special someone’s third birthday, and that means no time for silly things like blog posts.

hbday

Beauty Girl, you are one amazing kid—and I’m not just saying that because I’m your mama. Everyone else can see it too. I can’t believe it was three years ago already that you came along and changed me forever. Most days I still don’t have a clue what I’m doing with you, and I get it wrong more often than I’d like, but I’m terribly glad I have the task of trying. For every single challenge there have been a multitude of joys, and I wouldn’t trade a single minute of it.

“I am your calm face, you are my giggle / I am your wait, you are my wiggle … I am your carrot sticks, you are my licorice / I am your dandelion, you are my first wish … I am your favorite book, you are my new lines / I am your nightlight, you are my sunshine.”*

I will always love you, Beans.

*Taken from You Are My I Love You by Maryann Cusimano. Mamas, read the whole poem. I dare you not to cry!
