This week’s creative space has a little more variety in it than I’ve seen of late.
I’ve got one more baby blanket on the needles. (This is hopefully the last for a while, if my friends would just stop having babies!)
There’s a trial-and-error, not-sure-I’m-going-to-go-through-with-this, experiment-type project.
And there is, finally, a little experimentation in the form of watercolor (in keeping with one of my 2010 goals).
It’s a nice break from the frenzied sewing, although I feel like I’m spinning my wheels a bit with all this experimenting. I’m losing interest, and that’s not a good sign. It might be time to buckle down and decide what gets the green light and what’s a no-go.
Then there is the multitude of other ideas just waiting not-so-patiently in my brain. Ah, if I could just learn to make spare minutes, then we’d be in business!

I understand how you feel. I have decided to concentrate on the needle arts I have already mastered rather than trying to master a new medium in my precious spare time! I’m going to read more too!
written on April 7th, 2010, at 6:21 pmI’ve been a bit wheel spinny of late as well. Too many small children around for much of substance to be done about my plans. But I’ve decided to embrace what little I get done, and embrace my ‘jack-of-all-tradiness’. My time will come :)
written on April 7th, 2010, at 8:15 pmYeah. We do have our ups and down time. Art is an emotional activities in my opinion. I teared some of my sketching pages when I dislike some of them or they look horrible in my eyes the next day or something. I hope you get your mojo back v soon! :)
written on April 7th, 2010, at 8:45 pmIt gets hard to manage the multitude of great inpiring ideas that float around in one’s head at times. Then there are the half started – half finished projects that sometimes span years… Its all part of the enjoyment though, but it is good to finish things too! Good luck.

All is looking lovely – the baby blanket is beautiful.

written on April 7th, 2010, at 9:13 pmIt’s nice to have some variety I think.
written on April 7th, 2010, at 9:23 pmVariety is always good. Your watercolour looks lovely and the baby blanket is super snuggly.
written on April 7th, 2010, at 11:22 pmthe baby blanket is gorgeous. some times i would like to be able to turn the new ideas button off or at least down a bit
written on April 8th, 2010, at 1:36 amThere are times of experimentation, and times of focus. I’ve pretty much decided this year for me that fabric and sewing are where my heart is. I like the idea of the paper rolling (dish? bowl?) but I’m more keen on someone else doing the work! Anyway, enjoy the process, whether or not you end up completing everything…
written on April 8th, 2010, at 1:56 amLove how you are experimenting in different things…it might seem neither here nore there…but you’ll discover something special for sure! Your watercolor sticks and pencils look fun! I wonder if that helps with more control…will have to try!
written on April 8th, 2010, at 3:22 amWhat a fun-looking space you have this week – enjoy your creative experimentation :)

See, with new eyes, that experimentary looks INTRIGUING. Take a break before you throw that one out the window (please!?).
written on April 8th, 2010, at 10:26 pmOh yes, the making-friends-presents problem! It gets to the stage where if you give them something shop-bought, they are offended and then the guilt cycle begins… ;) It does go in cycles though which is a relief. I hope your friends give the baby-making a rest :)) Love the look of your watercolour experiments. Good luck with finding your creative balance. Kx
