We’re in post-birthday party recovery mode right now, and though I’d intended to show you some pictures of the birthday dress in action, it appears I’ve left my camera at my mom’s house, and so, no photos. Instead, how about the “little brother” gift that I made for my son?
Ridiculously cute, right? It’s called a Meekoo, and it’s a soft, squishy, entirely lovable creature who originally hails from The Land Down Under. It’s another Blinking Flights original, distant cousins with the Dewdrop Girl.
I used a soft, blue fleece I’ve had sitting here for years leftover from another project, plus a couple of “boyish” cottons. I wasn’t sure about joining the thicker fleece with the thinner cottons, but other than two teeny little puckers near the legs, it was easy as could be. Another winning pattern from Rebecca! (And it’s here, if you’re interested.)
Little guy loves his Meekoo, alternates between carrying it around the house and throwing it across the room, like the sweet but rough and tumble boy that he is. And now he has his own doll, so maybe it will cut down on the number of times he steals his sister’s…. Maybe.

Oh, that is one sweet little guy! Great job.

I love the fabrics you used, so snuggly.

written on May 5th, 2010, at 4:06 amI LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEE this. Reminds me of the ugly dolls they sell. Don’t take that offensively, you have taken it to a whole new level. We’ve always wanted some ugly dolls for our couch (hint, hint) and Christmas comes every year. Haha…no but really this is so awesome! Jealous of [the little guy]. :)
