After putting my sewing machine through its paces and then some, it’s time for some much-needed TLC. Sewing with felt and fake fur multiply the quantity of fuzzies building in all the little nooks and crannies, I’m sure, and I haven’t oiled the poor thing in … well, hmmm.
So it’s out with my miniature bristle brush and time for some cleanup in my creative space this week. I’m done with all the need-to-have-it-now gift-making and am hopefully settling into a slower, more peaceful pace for a while. I’m doing some drawing and prepping for a few easy Christmas gifts (yes, more Christmas already!) and just contemplating what I’m going to get myself up to next.
There’s always something interesting happening in the great jumble of Creative Spacers, so head on over to kootoyoo for lots more!

You are giving me the sewing machine guilts. I am pretty sure mine is clogged to the hilt with bits of fluff, and as for oiling it, well the less said there, the better.
written on May 19th, 2010, at 8:02 pmYour good! I’m shocking at maintaining the Janome.

written on May 19th, 2010, at 9:53 pmMy poor machine needs a good cleaning and oiling at least once a week with all the chenille fluff. Poor little things, they sure are troopers aren’t they, the amount of stuff we throw at them!!
written on May 19th, 2010, at 10:54 pmOh good for you. I have major sewing machine guilt after promising my Husky a trip to the sewing machine day spa in January… sShe’s still sitting there with fluff all over her. Thanks for the reminder.
written on May 19th, 2010, at 11:16 pmAfter getting a project out of the way, I’m looking forward to a slightly slower pace too. Enjoy.

You are getting on with those Christmas presents aren’t you! I think I need to pull my finger out and get going too!
written on May 20th, 2010, at 2:51 amOh, I should be doing that – been sewing with lots of felt recently too – I just know it’s going to ‘jam up’ soon! Good luck with the prepping and designing :)

written on May 20th, 2010, at 8:02 amGood idea! I need to do mine more often. When I remember, I love the smooth sound that comes after a good clean! Plus a drop of oil of course!
