FastCraft

My daughter’s teacher is having a baby soon, and I’d had it in mind to give her a little gift. What I didn’t have in mind was that she might need to stop teaching a couple weeks earlier than planned. Doesn’t she know I procrastinate these things? She really could have consulted with me first. Or, you know, I could have possibly planned ahead a bit more. Ahem.

There was only a bit of panic. Not so much that I didn’t put it off another two days. Then we quickly chose a pattern from Mr. Funky’s Super Crochet Wonderful and some soft yarn, and I did a quick whip-up just days before Mrs. S.’s last day. The design was entirely kid-dictated; I was merely the frantic humble crocheting hands.

These are the times when I’m thankful I have a bag of crafty tricks always in wait for an emergency gifting need. And it was sort of nice to make something again.

In fact, I made two somethings, as I needed a card too. But I’ll save that for the next post. When the crafty pickings are so slim, I have to stretch it out as much as I can, you know.

Oh, so cuute! And looking decidedly chuffed with that snazzy scarf too! Totally in awe that you can whip up one just like that (snaps fings) even with procrastination time and the deadline moved closer. x Alisa
